The album takes its name from the Nineteenth Century publishing series called "Penny Dreadful" which featured horror stories that, from time to time, were inspired by real events.

In the same way, the songs of this demo deal with disasters such as the one in Chernobyl ("Genetic Scars") or despicable happenings such as John Reginald Christie murders ("10 Rillington Place").

This work can be considered as a sort of collection of horror stories who crossed the border of fantasy and trespassed on the real world.
